What To Expect

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival, you will be picked up by our guide from the airport or hotel and transfer you to Kigali for a Kigali city tour where you get to visit the Kigali genocide memorial center which commemorates the 1994 Rwanda genocide.
You will further get a chance to meet and talk with the locals by visiting a local market in Kigali before embarking on the journey to volcanoes national park. Upon arrival in the park you will check-in to your hotel/lodge where you will have dinner and stay for the night.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking & Ibywacu Cultural Village

After enjoying your breakfast, you will be picked up by our guide who will drive you to the park headquarters. Once you reach there, you will find your fellow trekkers and you will be combined to be given the rules and regulations of trekking gorillas. Have breakfast early in the morning before heading to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the gorilla tracking rules. You will then proceed to track the gorilla family you have been assigned to. This will take between 2 to 8 hours before you encounter a gorilla family since the gentle giants are always moving about the forest.
After the gorilla trek, you will drive to the lodge where you will have lunch and then from there, you can decide to rest or proceed to the Ibywacu Cultural Village where you get to learn about the Rwandese culture. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Kigali

Enjoy your breakfast, and proceed into the park to track the golden monkeys. While in the forest there are number of bird species which you will see and other primates like the baboons. You will later return to the lodge and freshen up before heading back to Kigali. Drop-off will be at your hotel in Kigali or the airport for your onward flight.
